About Us

About the Trainer

Tyler Baldwin — Founder, Nulink Training LtdI’m Tyler Baldwin, founder of Nulink Training Ltd and a practitioner-trainer specialising in Non-Violent Resistance (NVR) and trauma-aware approaches to challenging behaviour. My work is grounded in frontline practice, not theory alone. I have worked extensively across residential care, family support, outdoor and experiential education, and behavioural support roles, supporting children, young people, families, and the professionals around them in high-pressure situations. This experience has shaped a clear focus: helping adults stay regulated, consistent, and effective when behaviour escalates — without relying on punishment, control, or reactive interventions.

Why I work with Non-Violent Resistance

I use Non-Violent Resistance because it addresses the real problem professionals face:
knowing what to do, but struggling to do it under pressure.
NVR shifts the focus away from controlling behaviour and towards:adult self-regulation,calm and consistent authority, reducing power struggles, and restoring safety and relationship after incidents. In my experience, this makes NVR particularly effective in trauma-exposed, neurodiverse, and high-risk contexts where traditional behaviour management approaches often escalate rather than resolve difficulties.

Professional background and experience

My background includes:Frontline work with children and young people displaying complex emotional and behavioural needs,Supporting families experiencing high levels of stress, breakdown, and repeated escalation,Working alongside staff teams facing burnout, inconsistency, and organisational pressure,Delivering training and support in environments where safeguarding, risk management, and accountability are critical.I understand the realities of shift work, staff turnover, incident pressure, and the difficulty of embedding change across teams — and design training accordingly.

NVR Practitioner Foundations (Level 1)

Calm Authority for Frontline Practice

Practical Non-Violent Resistance training for professionals working with challenging behaviour — with built-in implementation support so change actually sticks.

  • De-escalation tools staff can use immediately

  • Shared scripts that reduce power struggles

  • Ongoing support to embed practice under pressure

Why This Matters

Training alone doesn’t change behaviour. Systems do.

Most teams attend training, feel motivated, then revert when pressure rises.Without shared language, clear boundaries, and follow-through, escalation patterns return. This programme focuses on practical Non-Violent Resistance tools and the systems needed to use them consistently in real-world settings.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Q: Will this replace our existing behaviour policies?

  • A: No. NVR complements existing policies and frameworks by improving how staff respond within them, particularly under pressure.

  • Q: Does this remove consequences or boundaries?

  • A: No. NVR focuses on holding clear boundaries calmly and consistently, without relying on punishment, escalation, or power struggles.

  • Q: Is this a one-off training?

  • A: No. Training is followed by structured implementation support and a review session to embed learning into everyday practice.

  • Q: Does this involve therapy or clinical work?

  • A: No. This is a practice-based training programme, not a therapeutic intervention.

  • Q: How does this fit with safeguarding responsibilities?

  • A: NVR is used alongside safeguarding procedures, professional judgement, and statutory duties — not instead of them.

  • Q: Will this work with complex needs or neurodiversity?

  • A: Yes. The approach is commonly used where trauma, neurodiversity, and high emotional demand are present.
